Hailing from Camden, NJ, Shawn Carr has served in several facets of higher education over the last 10 years. It has been his honor to contribute to the success of students within the private, public, and non-profit college sectors by providing pathways from student recruitment to academic success. He has also partnered with many community-based organizations around the country to help underserved and underrepresented high school students navigate the college admissions process.
Shawn is dedicated to the success of young adults. He often promotes the importance of health & wellness and raises awareness on how inspired action is the key to helping them achieve their goals. He also has a genuine passion for mentoring young men from inner cities, helping them avoid costly hurdles in life and enhancing their professional conduct by providing exposure to various organizational cultures.
Shawn received his bachelor’s degree in psychology from Coppin State University. He earned his master’s degree in organizational communication from Bowie State University. Most recently, Shawn served as Associate Director of Admissions at the University of La Verne in Southern California.
