Admission Criteria to the ACES Program–What You Need to Know.
The ACES Program is a free program and seeks to serve students who are historically underrepresented in higher education that identify with one, or more of the following categories:
- First in their family to graduate from a college or university in the United States
- Have differing abilities
- From a single parent household
- From a low income household- falls below the poverty line as defined by the State of Maryland
- Emergent Multilingual Learners (formerly know as English Language Learner)

Important Dates & Deadlines
1 Your application will not be reviewed until a completed Application Consent Form is submitted to your ACES student success coordinator. The Application Consent Form is available in 7 languages, including English, Spanish, Amharic, Chinese, French, Korean, and Vietnamese.
2 All students will receive a form of correspondence. If accepted to the ACES program, program participants will be required to commit to the Montgomery College onboarding process the summer before their senior year in order to remain in the ACES program. Participants may choose to withdraw if they decide not to commit to the Montgomery College onboarding process by the start of their senior year. Participants may also be withdrawn at the discretion of the program prior to their senior year if they are unresponsive regarding their commitment to the Montgomery College onboarding process.
