BRITNEY CARTERBritney grew up in Garden City, Kansas where she attended Garden City Community College and earned her Associate’s in Psychology while also participating in the school’s inaugural women’s soccer team. She transferred to William Penn University in Okaloosa, Iowa, where she continued to play soccer and earned her Bachelor of Arts in Sociology with an emphasis on Criminology.  She then earned her Master of Arts in College Student Development and Administration from Shepherd University in Shepherdstown, WV. 

Britney’s experience in higher education started while doing work study in community college and has developed into more than 13 years of experience and expertise working to increase access to affordable education for underrepresented students in Maryland which has included: financial aid and scholarships, teaching English as a Second Language as well as advocating for DACA, DREAM Act, and undocumented students and served on committees regarding LGBTQIA+ inclusion on campus. In her free time, Britney enjoys true crime podcasts, video games, kickboxing, and her dog Deus.
