Specializing in maintaining an environment that supports and encourages the holistic development of students; promoting and enhancing student accessibility to post-secondary experiences, Raché Alaran, has a robust 14 year background in higher education, specifically, Student Affairs. A DC native, and proud graduate of Montgomery County Public Schools, Ms. Alaran can speak first hand to what it’s like to embark on the collegiate journey as a “First-Gen” college student.

Having served in a multitude of roles during her tenure, the most rewarding role was that of an on-site counselor, focusing on assisting students with the transition from high school to college through programing efforts, providing high impact out-of-classroom experiences, as well as facilitating specialized group sessions pertinent to student success.

Ms. Alaran, received her bachelor’s of science degree in criminal justice and master’s of science degree in rehabilitation counseling from the illustrious University of Maryland Eastern Shore. She is very passionate when it comes to assisting youth with overcoming some of the challenges associated with time management, clarifying values, transitioning into new friendships, learning from mistakes, and developing autonomy.
