Sofia is a first-generation college student from Montgomery County. She began her journey with the ACES program as a student in MCPS, ultimately choosing to continue her studies at Montgomery College. While there, she stayed actively involved, serving as a student worker in the Rockville Campus ACES office. After earning her associate’s degree in public health science, Sofia transferred to the University of Maryland College Park at USG, where she is now pursuing her bachelor’s degree.
Her commitment to the ACES program has grown over the years. Starting as a student worker, she now has three years of experience with the team. Sofia is passionate about helping others and has witnessed firsthand the ACES program’s dedication to its students. She is excited to be part of the team and hopes to inspire current ACES students who are in the same place she was in just a few years ago.
